As the cricket fever is on in India after the 20-20 win by the Indian cricket team, many movies are coming up with the cricket theme. The movie Meerabai Not Out is one of them. The movie lead actress is Mandira Bedi who is associated to Indian cricket team.

The story of the movie is of Meera Achrekar, unmarried Maths teacher in a local school. Meera is a great fan of cricket and she thinks she is married to Indian cricketer Anil Kumble and so she does not marry. Meera lives in a small chawl in Mumbai and she watches all the cricket matches that are held in the nearby Mumbai stadium.

Neighboring people consist of Manoj Anant Achrekar who played cricket sometime in his life but for economic reasons he had to leave his game. He is also a great fan of cricket.

Arjun Awasthi is the youngster who is attracted to Meera and goes with her to propose her to marry and Meera says that he is married to Kumble.

Dr. Awasthi is father of Arjun who can not accept Meera as his bahu.

The story of the movie is about real funny people and situation. The social life in a chawl area and romance between youngsters are also attractions of the movie. The story is also about common man’s passion for cricket and extent to which it affects people.
