The movie 26th July at Barista has a great subject that can be made like Titanic but unfortunately the movie has no proper script and narration of the incident that happened on Mumbai on 26th July is weak. The story tries to capture the various events along with the floods that effected people in Mumbai that is one of the most crowded and occupied city of India as it got submerged in water, people were stranded at their places, people were searching for their kids, relatives and robbers were trying to benefit from the incident. The movie goes hay way with emotions and couldn’t catch the viewers’ interest.
The movie tried to capture a Barista incident where many people come to have coffee in the evening. Nobody can imagine that the Mumbai rains that are common in the monsoon seasons will turn out to be a monster that may engulf people and succumb many to death. The people are enjoying the rainy days and are visiting the coffee shop with their families and friends. As the day passes the rains get heavier and cross all limits. The story shows how a group of people who are unknown to many are trying to rescue people from the natural disaster.
The base on which the movie is made is very good but the movie doesn’t have the proper attraction points and it look weak in the front of the subject. If the same movie was made in Hollywood it would have been far better, even if the movie had unknown actors but this being a Bollywood movie was just non persuasive.
The newcomers in the movie are unsuccessful in making an impact on the audience.
Rating: 3/10
