Movie Review: Royal Utsav

Some extremely unknown movies are getting released since last week, as the producer’s strike started. Some new filmmakers have tried to show their skills and regional movies are also getting released in Hindi. “Royal Utsav” is one of the movies based on erratic historical facts that got released in the week. Alexander gets a rebirth in the movie “Royal Utsav,” (that takes instance from Rekha’s movie “Utsav’ and it shows about Vatsyayana, Chanakya, Kalidas and 400 B.C.)

The story of the movie is about Sikandar (Alexander) who conquered the world and then he went on to conquer India and he won the Kashmir area of India but he couldn’t proceed further. His armies refused to move on. He lost and he returned back to his native country to reach his destined death. Alexander gets a re-birth and he finds that India can not be won by a war instead you have to fall in love to conquer India.

He goes to India, where he meets his love and learns about various Shashtra’s and meets Chanakya. He marries Rani Roopmati and settles down in India. The movie stand nowhere close to the movie “Utsav” but the subject has been taken from the film. You don’t find anything “royal” about it and the movie having a complete new casts and crew, don’t have anything entertaining to offer. There are also songs (five songs) in the movie but none is praising.

The movie has been released at a time when no good films are getting released hence audiences may be forced to watch this one but these stuffs won’t stand long in theatres.
