She is the daughter and niece of veteran actress who has given many box offices hit in 60 and 70s, her mother Tanuja was seen in many movies like Jewel Thief in 70s and Kajol’ s looks match that of her mother. Even her performance is similar to her mother and aunt. Her aunt Nutan has done many exceptional movies.

Her movies with Vimal Roy and Raj Kapoor were awarded and praised She also has the Bengali connection that makes her look homely and a girl next door. She has average looks and personality. But her performance makes her to look very beautiful and her body language make it much sober and grounded even in worst of her performance she never looks vulgar and off beaten.

Starting with a slow pace in Hindi movie she did many movies and all were blockbuster of all times Dilwale Dulhaniyan Le Jayenge, Baazigar, Karan Arjun , Dushman, Fanaa, Pyar to Hona Hi Tha ,Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam and many others .All these movies are much watched because of her performance.

Kajol after giving her first movie Baazigar wasn’t much praised but her next movie Dilwale Dulhaniyan Le Jayenge made her a star At the top of the Bollywood stair she enjoyed being the leader to the Indian cinema and left from the top to give her important time to her personal life and marriage, to get settled with popular actor Ajay Devgan. A very unexpected step from her side as any actress won’t leave movies when she is on the top and will try to encash her stardom but she is not money oriented that can be predicted from her step to marry and leave her career aside for some times.

Relations and her family are more important to her and that’s what she generally displays in her character with such ease .She is large hearted and non egoistic even after being so successful .
