Music Review: “Pranali - The Tradition “

The music of the album Pranali has been composed by Kailash Kher known for singing folk songs. The co-composers in the album are Paresh and Naresh. The movie Pranali has a subject based on women empowerment and the songs are not romantic and fun-filled entertainers but the album features some classical Indian music.

‘Sakhiyaan Sakhiyaan’ –The song has four prominent female singers of bollywood Shreya Ghoshal, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Sunidhi Chauhan and Richa Sharma singing together. The song is good for the different voices present and the impressive lyrics are of Anil Pandey that portrays the various shades of women life.

‘Sach Na Batana’ –The song ‘Sach Na Batana’ has been sung by Kailash Kher himself and another version of the same song is in the voice of Udit Narayan and the final outcome of the song is mediocre. This one is also an emotional kind of song.

‘Bikhar Gaye’ –’Bikhar Gaye’ is another song on women empowerment and Kailash Kher has given his voice for the song. This is also an average song. Another version of the song has been sung by Madhushri that is better than the Kher’s rendition but that too cannot reach charts.

‘Tandav’ –The song is classical ‘Tandav’ by Pandit Birju Maharaj and the choreography of the song will make it more impressive to watch. The sounds of tabla beats and instruments make it good to listen for those who have better knowledge of classical songs.

The album could have been made more beautifully because the women oriented subject gives many choices .The composer could go for classical dance numbers and can get inspired from historical bollywood movies based on women subject This album couldn’t satisfy even the lovers of classical works.
