Music review: Jimmy

The Raj N Sippy directed movie Jimmy is ready to be released and the music of the movie has been composed by the team of Anand Raj Anand, Bappa Lahiri and Vijay Verma. Bappa Lahiri is son of Bappi Lahiri and he has composed two songs for the debuting movie of Mithun’s son, Mimoh. In 80’s when Mithun started doing movies, his songs were composed by Bappi and this may have made the team to be so formed. The lyrics of the songs are of Ranbir Pushp, Virag Mishra and Anand Raaj Anand.

‘Why Not Jimmy’ –The song has been written by Ranbir Pushp and voice of Shaan with some unnamed female voice, couldn’t make an impressing impact on the listener. Some rap kind of arrangements is also present in the song.

‘Do Minute Mein’ –The song has been composed by Bappa Lahiri and the lyrics of the song are of Virag Mishra.(May be it is song in which Mimoh has been given to prove his dance talents in just two minutes).Again the rap effect is prevalent in the song. The song is average one.

‘Jeevein Bulliyaan Pe’ –This one is impressive melodious song as the lyrics, composition and voice, all are of Anand Raaj Anand.

‘Marhaba’ –The mix of west and middle-east composition by Bappa can be heard in song ‘Marhaba’ that has been sung by Debojit. The music is average to hear.

‘Zamaane Se Keh Do’ –The combination of Anand Raaj Anand and Kailash Kher couldn’t make any effect in the song. The song has been written by Ranbir Pushp.

‘Ye Hain Meri Dastaan’ –This is a self pity kind of song and the western beats later in the song makes it average to hear. The song has been composed and voiced by Vijay Verma.

‘Aaya Hoon’ –The song has been composed by Anand Raaj Anand and written by Ranbir Pushp and has a light cool music. The song has been sung by Kunal Ganjawala and also a female voice can be heard in the song.

The music of the debuting movie of Mimoh is not attractive enough to make audience go to theatres to watch a debuting star’s movie but a few songs can be promoted to bring the songs in charts and get attention like ‘Jeevein Bulliyaan Pe’ and ‘Aaya Hoon’.
