Music Review: Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam

The songs of the film “Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam” has been composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics of the songs have been written by Sanjay Chhel. The film is a comedy with a social message and the songs are also fun generating entertaining songs with funny lyrics and choreography to add.

‘Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam’(title song) – The title track of the film is Ishq Bector’s song in the voices of Anushka Manchandani and Mahalaxmi Iyer and Shaan too adds his voice in the later part of the song. The song is fun, entertaining and lyrics that comments on the historical drama of Anarkali and Mughall-E-Aazm. The song has electronic sound and hip hop style.

‘Marmari Baahein’ -’Marmari Baahein’ is a sensuous song in the voice of Kunal Ganjawala and Mahalaxmi Iyer. And lyrics of the romantic song are impressive. The song has a second version called the ‘lounge’ mix in the voice of Anu Malik but the song is average in Malik’s voice rather it is impressive in the voice of Kunal Ganjawala.

‘Ek to Sharaab Kam’- The song is in the voice of Pankaj Udhas and the gazal of Udhas are generally famous with his fans. The song has meaningful lyrics and the song looks to be a situational track. Another version of the song is also present in the album and there is nothing new in the song though it attracts for ghazal sagacity.

‘Ishqiyaan’ –The song is a fun generating qawwali track voiced by Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Aftab Hashmi Sabri. The remixed version of the song has Alisha Chinai and the remixed version has additional disco beats.

The album is short and has limited tracks with one or two songs that can get noticed. There is no general trend followed by the songs or there is no common type of music in the songs. The songs are as per the script of the film.
