Music Review: Mr. Black Mr. White

The movie Mr. Black Mr. White is a comedy flick similar to the Suniel Shetty’s movie Gopi Kishan in which Suniel had played a double role and the movie Mr. Black Mr. White is directed by Deepak Shivdasani. The movie is expected to be released on second of May and the music of the movie has been composed by Shamir Tandon, Tauseef Akhtar, Jatin Pandit, Lalit Pandit.
The songs of the movie are:
“Behna Ki Shaadi”-The song is a celebration song in Indian context as the marriage celebrations are being carried out. The song has been sung by Sonu Nigam and the song has been composed by Tausif Akhtar. A new singer Shailendra too has been added in the singers list but the song lacks the entertainment and energy of a festival.
“Teetar” - Vasundhra Das and Sukhwinder Singh come together for the song and the song is basically is romantic one but the effect is crude. The folky touch and composition of Tausif Akhtar couldn’t move the music to reach entertaining levels. A remix version has also been added but the high beats in the remix version are equally ineffective.
“Tu Makki Di Roti”-The desi touch has been tried to be implanted in the song “Tu Makki Di Roti” and the singers are the pop Punjabi pop singers Daler Mehndi and Mika. The song has been composed by Shamir Tandon and Asha Bosle is also in the singers list but the effect is average.
“Tu Makki Di Roti”(club remix) –A remix version of the song has been added in the album but the increased number of beats couldn’t make a change in the final outcome of the song.
“Ek Dil Ki”-The song has been sung by both the best singers of bollywood Udit Narayan and Shaan and the song is based on the theme of friendship. Alka Yagnik too has added her voice and the song is average in final outcome.
“Samandar” –The Indi pop singer Suzanne D’Mello and Neeraj Sridhar have come together in the song and the song has been composed by Jatin-Lalit. This one is good but not competitive to reach charts.
“Samandar”(second version) –The same song “Samandar” has been sung by Sweta Mohanty and Suzanne D’Mello and the final outcome is lacking touchy notes.
“Namasteji”- The song has been sung by Kunal Ganjawala’s and it is made in a way to match a bhangra and lots of e style too has been added in the song. This one is above average and the best song of the album. This is also a situational track and choreography will be important for the song to make an impact.
The album has not even a single song that is unique and impressive to make one listen again and again but most of the songs are average in rendition.
Rating: 4/10
