Om Shanti Om gaining the top ranks overseas

There has been no movie release in the last week and the coming Friday will be marked by the release of the movie Goal. Movie based on sports Chak De India was not a successful movie in UK and benefit of no good movie release has been gained by the Farah Khan movie OSO and it has been termed to be one of the Bollywood movies that made maximum money at the box office in UK in 2007.The movie OSO has in fact topped the list of Bollywood movies that gained profits on box office.

OSO enacted by Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone was a blockbuster in India and the movie termed as a huge entertainer got a total collection of around Rs 80,000,000 in 10 days in UK. The movie Namastey London was the top movie of the year 2007 at the UK Box office and after the release of OSO the collections made by Namastey London have been gained by the movie in just 1 week of its release.

After the release of the movie American Gangster and the Beowulf, weekly rankings of the Bollywood movie OSO has been 8th but still it holds a better ranking than the Tom Cruise movie Lions for Lambs that holds the 9th position in the weekly top movie charts comprising of the movies released in UK.

The Bollywood movies that have been getting huge collections in UK are Om Shanti Om, Namastey London, Partner, Salaam-E-Ishq and Ta Ra Rum Pum. From the list of movies it can be predicted that the box office results of UK carry no resemblance to the box office result of India.

The movies that are good in India and in fact blockbuster of India like Chak De India holds no good position in the list of movies that fared well in UK.

The movies Salaam-E-Ishq and Ta Ra Rum Pum fared below average in Indian market but in UK the movies did good businesses. The movies can be compared to Shilpa Shetty, who was not faring well in Bollywood but she got huge praise from her friends in UK.

For OSO, the movie is performing well in both the markets India and UK.
