Abhishek Bachchan looks and his work is finally getting recognized. Omega - world wide brand for watches, is roping Abhishek as its Indian brand ambassador.

Omega International (a subsidiary of the Swatch Group) is expected to make an announcement to this effect in March-end during the Baselworld 2006 annual fair for watches and timepieces. Abhishek rising popularity in UK and US will add to the essence of brand.

Earlier, there were rumours that another Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan, would be roped in by Omega to pit him against Shah Rukh Khan (brand ambassador for Tag Heuer watches) and Aamir Khan (brand ambassador for Titan). But from Omega’s point of view, Abhishek will be in sync with the brand personality.

Omega also plans to launch a new James Bond collection to coincide with the release of the new Bond film. Global celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, Michael Schumacher, and Michael Phelps have endorsed Omega watches. Abhishek is the second Indian brand ambassador of Omega after actress Sonali Bendre-Behl.

A lot of international brands want Bollywood stars to endorse their products as they have become internationally famous and renowned.
