Following the family’s footsteps in the film industry is Ishaan Kapur, kid brother (just 11 year old) of Shahid Kapur. He is making his debut in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi. This is a fantasy film with lot of special effects that kids will love!

Ishaan plays Shahid’s nephews in the film. His parents die in the film and he comes to stay with Shahid. Manjrekar’s 11-year-old son, Satya, also makes his acting debut in the film, co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Behl and wife Ekta, among others.

Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi is the story of nine children and Shahid, all living together as one family in this huge house, which people want to buy but Shahid is not ready to sell it.
He suffers an accident and dies. Then he comes back and sorts everything out.

The director says that acting to Ishaan is natural
“I had selected about six youngsters for the film, when Ishaan came and told me, ‘Mujhe bhi kaam karna hai’. He asked me so comfortably, I said okay and he was on. He has never faced the camera before. He’s very promising. Ishaan had never thought of acting before, but you have to see how easy and natural he is in front of the camera. He’s very good.”

“Satya saw me screen-testing some kids and said he wanted to do the film. He was extremely excited about the story and wanted to be part of the project. Yes, he has also performed well, but I don’t want to talk too much about him. My daughter has assisted me in the film, so it’s become quite a family project.”

Manjrekar says the film is one of his oldest scripts that he had initially written with Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt in mind

“But it was an expensive film with lots of special effects, so many producers hesitated at doing it. Finally, I could make it with Sanjay Dutt and Shahid. I just reversed the roles. Mohnish and Ekta is a couple who stay in the house full of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters”.
