Our Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has joined the list of well-wishers of Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, who wants a speedy recovery and good health of the mega star.

Dr. Singh sent a letter to Mr. Bachchan through Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Sunday. “You are an icon for all Indians and I join millions of countrymen in praying for your good health and speedy recovery.” the Prime Minister wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan is showing great improvement from his surgery ‘diverticultis of small intestine’ and is taking brief strolls within the Intensive Care Unit at Lilavati Hospital, where he is admitted for an intestinal ailment.

Manmohan Singh said he learnt about the sudden illness and the surgery Amitabh underwent a few days ago and said, “I wish you well and hope that you get well soon and resume your normal activities at the earliest.”

Amitabh close friend Amar Singh told that the entire Bachchan family was happy with the progress shown by Amitabh and that Mr. Bachchan has promised to personally write back to every one who has wished him luck in the guest book.
