Priyanka and Meera to play Umrao Jaan in different films

Priyanka Chopra and Meera of ‘Nazar’ fame are all set to enact the role of Umrao Jaan (a film immortalized by Rekha) in different films.

While J.P. Dutta has taken the mammoth task of re-making Umrao Jaan, Afzal Ahmed has announced another ‘Umrao Jaan’ with Pakistani actress Meera in the lead.

Afzal had earlier approached Priyanka Chopra with the same role and Chopra sat on the script for a long time without telling him whether she was doing or not.

When told J.P. Dutta is also making Umrao Jaan, Afzal told that his script will focus more on Umrao Jaan’s daughter than Umrao Jaan herself.
