Rakhi Sawant item numbers chopped by censors

Rakhi Sawant item numbers chopped by censors

Rakhi Sawant has a reason to frown. She has lost two of her biggest assets this Friday in the form of item numbers, something that essentially is her forte in Bollywood. The first number was from the film Khamoshh (releasing today) that was chopped of by the censors some time ago and is now of common knowledge. But the second and recent chipping by the Censors is from the other Friday release - Mumbai Xpress.

Kamal Hassan had roped in Rakhi Sawant for an item number in his film Mumbai Xpress when he first saw her in the video of ‘Haadsa’. But the Censors strongly objected to the sexy item number maintaining that they would pass the film with an ‘A’ certificate if the item song was to be retained in the movie.

However Hassan had planned Mumbai Xpress as a complete family entertainer and wanted that the film be passed with a ‘U’ certificate to gain a wider audience in the form of families turning in the theatres. Even while the promotions of the film, he claimed that while the current horde of films are merchandising only flesh, Mumbai Xpress has dared to go for another big “F” word in the world of commercial cinema circuit… “FAMILY”! Any member of your family - be he/her - on a perambulator or even a wheel chair will enjoy the film.

The actor has kept up with his words, deleting the item song for a ‘U’ certificate. So now you need not think twice before taking your mom or dad to Mumbai Xpress.
