Ram Gopal Verma is very particular about item numbers in his films and this time he has zeroed in Urmila Matondkar as the item girl for the remixed version of R. D. Burman’s evergreen composition ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ in the remake of ‘Sholay’.

Earlier there were speculations about Ramu and Urmila fallout but with this news they have been all put to rest. The last time Urmila worked with RGV in ‘Ek Haseena Thi’.

‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ is the track on which electrifying Helen did a cabaret number and being a great Helen fan, Urmila hopes she will be able to do justice to this song.

Urmila who is thrilled to have been offered the role says, “It’s a rocking number on its own. Nobody can match Helen’s skills as a dancer. But I just hope that with my inputs I make it more rocking. I will try and give it something which will appeal to everyone.”

RGV thinks that no one but Urmila would suit the song perfectly. He said, “This being the key song in the film, I couldn’t have settled for someone else. Urmila is a great dancer, oomphy and with perfect sex appeal. Who else could fit the bill for this sensuous yet classy cabaret number? She’s the ideal choice.”
