Sanjay Dutt sentenced for 6 years jail term

Sanjay Dutt was waiting for a long time for his final judgment and as the judgment arrived the Bollywood was in shock. Sanjay Dutt will have to stay in jail for more than 3 years as he has already been in jail for 2 years during his initial arrest in the Mumbai blast TADA case. He got a total of 6 years of jail term.

Sanjay Dutt has been punished by the Mumbai court under arms act for keeping AK 47 rifles and explosives. After listening to the final verdict Sanjay Dutt made a request to the court to talk to daughter his daughter Trishala .As and when the verdict came Sanjay Dutt was arrested by the police and sent to the Mumbai Arthur Road Jail. He will have stay in jail up to 2nd of August. Both his sisters came to meet him after his verdict.

The lawyer of Sanjay Dutt said that he was not given any benefit of his celebrity status and the court was indifferent for his being a celebrity. Even in jail he is supposed to be treated like others and won’t be provided with any extra facilities. Satish Mane Shinde, lawyer of Sanjay Dutt said that his bail has been cancelled by the court. He said that Sanjay Dutt was prepared for the judgment and will excise the option of going to the Supreme Court .He said Sanjay won’t be provided with any extra security in the jail and no special cell has been allotted to him.

Answering to the questions of the reporter the lawyer said that Sanjay Dutt will be given jail food and will not be allowed to have food from home. He said earlier when he was in jail for 2 years he was on probation and was under trial and so he was permitted to have food from outside jail but now he is a convict and so he cannot have food from outside the jail.

Sanjay Dutt had given some real good movies recently in last few years. His movie Parineeta, MunnaBhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munnabhai did well at box office and broke many a records. He was also doing a few movies and as he has been punished his undergoing projects will suffer.
