Remember Karan of Rang De Basanti, the careless, spoilt rich brat, who around climax of the story takes an extreme step by killing his own father to avenge the death of his best friend. Then again in the ending he and DJ (played by Aamir) die bravely, playfully. The powerful role was played by South actor, Siddharth and exceptionally well too. (The role was so important that Rakeysh Mehra had approached Hrithik Roshan to play Karan.) Now the actor is looking for some more good roles in Bollywood.

Siddharth is ecstatic.
I am looking for good work. It could come from anywhere. But yes, RDB has made Bollywood a huge opportunity. I am hungry and hopeful.

Now that he has almost managed to overshadow Aamir Khan with his performance what he thinks of his star status in Mumbai.
I have been around for a while in the South, and have fought the star tag ferociously. I am an actor. It is difficult enough trying to be an actor without the added illusion of stardom. Recognition and fanfare are always nice, but amounts to nothing if the good work dries up.

At the moment Siddharth priority lies down South.
I am established there. I do the kind of work I want to do. Telugu industry is a very warm and friendly place to work in. It will always be my base.

Have you got any offers for Hindi films?
I am still at the listening stage. But I have Telugu commitments for almost the rest of the year. But that’s a huge blessing, because it gives me time to go through all the scripts. I have been very selective in my career so far, so that philosophy extends to Hindi films as well.

Right now he is enjoying a well-deserved holiday in Bangalore.
