Suniel Shetty is tired of doing pointless films he has starred in the recent past and is calling quits. The actor of several multi-starrers has finally decided to say bye to Bollywood due to lack of good offers coming his way.

Shetty announced his retirement when his films in the early ’90s were flopping all around him. At that time, he said that he’d quit the industry after he gets his first hit film. But his first official hit ‘Border’ made him forget his decision.

This time he has returned the signing amounts he has taken from several of his producers and has also set March 31 to be the deadline.

Suniel Shetty is tired of being the ’samose mein alu’ in the films.
I will be jobless from next month. I have decided that I have had enough and I don't want to do any films, of any kind, now. I've spent almost 16 years in the film industry and I need a break.

Shetty has just completed the shooting of Dharmesh Darshan’s Aap Ke Khatir.
I have some patchwork and dubbing left for some films, which should be completed by April 15. Thereafter I will be at home, it's time to babysit.

Shetty’s disappointment
Except a few directors like Subhash Ghai, J P Dutta and Priyadarshan, most of the offers were inconsequential. My friends had started making fun of me by saying that I'm like a 'samose mein alu'. I don't want my career to go that way, so I've taken the decision to stop working in films for a while.

A complete family person
My kids (daughter Athiya and son Ahan) need me. I have worked round the clock for last 10 years. Even now, I can sign films, but that's not the issue. As an actor I need to grow and I think over the years I have improved as an actor.

Financially sound
I will be concentrating on my business and my family. I come from a financially sound family; I am not working for money. I will be able to earn 30 times more than what I am earning from films if I take my business career seriously.

Shetty own production house, but he will not be acting for it.
I feel that producing a film for yourself is ridiculous.

Future plans
I would love to take my son for the World Cup soccer matches and spend more time with him. My daughter also needs academic guidance now. If I get serious about exercising, I will get back my six-pack abs. I want to be fit and recharge my batteries.

The actor has also completed J P Dutta’s ‘Umrao Jaan’ and Satish Kaushik’s ‘Shaadi Ke Pehele’.
