Taj Mahal in London
Recently Akbar Khan’s movie ‘Taj Mahal - An Eternal Love Story’ was screened in London.
Impressed by his work, the Queen Mother Memorial Fund of which the Prince of Wales is the patron, has shown interest in making a film on the Queen Mother’s role as the last Empress of India. Akbar Khan has already had a discussion with Sir Philip Bonn of the Queen Memorial Fund.
Taj Mahal is all set to release in the UK cinemas on 18 November 2005.
The film depicts the love story of Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal which ultimately gave rise to one of the Seven Wonders of the World - the Taj Mahal.
The star cast including Kabir Bedi, Arbaaz Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Pooja Batra. The film introduces the lead pair Zulfikar Syed and Sonya Jehan who play Prince Khurram and Mumtaz Mahal respectively. Sonya - the granddaughter of noted singer-actress Noor Jehan has incidentally grown up in London.
