Weekly Box Office review

The last week was mostly dominated by Jodhaa Akbar. The movie Jodhaa Akbar is in news for depicting Jodhaa wrongly to be wife of Akbar but the movie goers are watching the movie in most of the regions where the movie was released and in four days the movie engrossed close to 40 crore rupees at the box –office which include a huge portion from the non Hindi belt, 40 crore Rupees has been the total cost incurred by the movie in its makings.

There was much confusion related to the movie Jodhaa Akbar from the start of its releases related to the screening of the movie. The movie was opposed at major regions in Northern India like in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The movie has also been criticized for being too long but the performance of Hrithik has been praised by all who watched the movie.

The next big release is expected to come to theatres by March 7 and that is the Subhash Ghai’s movie Black and White. There are two weeks with no big releases after the release of Jodhaa Akbar and this will benefit the movie Jodhaa Akbar. Before that no movies are in planned to get released and so the movie has a lot of scope to make business.

The movie Jodhaa Akbar is making business more than 40% to 60 % in major Indian cities. It is also being said the movie Jodhaa Akbar will beat the collections made by Om Shanti Om in US and it is considered to be a good grosser overall.

The movie is also getting praised and is being covered by the US press and is definitely finding audience in the western arena as well. All this will help the movie get promoted and make huge money at the box –office.

By the time the movie Mithya also made a good collection at box office as the audience watching the movie is praising the plot. Other than these two movies no other movie is making news at the box office.
