Weekly Box Office review

In the current week the films “Hastey Hastey” and “Woodstock Villa” were released and both the films are just average as per critics but the box-office collection can not be predicted for the movies. “Hastey Hastey” is a comedy with drama and the “Woodstock Villa” is suspense. The previous weeks releases were “Don Muthuswami”, “Jannat”, “Jimmy”, “Bhootnath”, “Tashan” and “U, Me, Aur Hum”.

The film ‘Don Muthuswamy’ and `Dhoom Dadakka` failed at box-office because there was no attraction in the film. The top bollywood casts were not present in the movie and overall script of the films was just average. The music of the film “Jannat” attracted audience to reach theatres whatever be the movie but the people went to the theatre and the other movies released in last few weeks did not have such attraction.

The people who heard the “Jannat” songs went to the theatres to watch the film and the film succeeded. Even the presence of Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan or Akshay Kumar in “Tashan” couldn’t attract the base audience but the music of “Jannat” attracted audience. The animation films “Ghatothkach” attracted kids and the movie was even promoted well by the movie makers. The film is getting attention from kids and their parents but otherwise adults and youthful college goers are not reaching multiplexes in metro cities.

The other film like “Jimmy” was already declared to be a flop with a weak storyline and “Boothnath” is also counted to be an average film. The Pakistani film “Khuda Ke Liye” has reached its seventh week and the film is still being screened by theatres and for that the film should be applauded. The Yash Raj Banner’s “Tashan“got pessimistic reviews from audience and the film has been declared to be a flop in theatres. “U,Me Aur Hum” was better in overseas market then in India.
