What does the title PETA’s sexiest vegetarians stands for?

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) has been presenting stars as role models giving them PETA’s sexiest vegetarians of year titles but it is mostly an illusion.PETA has been encouraging vegetarian food intake but many Bollywood stars who are in the list of sexiest vegetarians are not pure vegetarians.

In last few years the title of PETA’s sexiest vegetarians was held by Amitabh Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor. Amitabh Bachchan is vegetarian by-choice, he is not full time vegetarian (one who never had non – veg food.) Talking about Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan said “it is easy for Kareena Kapoor to select from menu as she always selects French fries be it any part of the world.” Once in an interview Kareena said she takes cheese instead of meat and she claimed she is a “vegan “(Vegan is one who doesn’t take meat, dairy, egg, or animal-product but when she takes cheese she can’t claim she is a “vegan”).

Actresses who are pure vegetarian are Hema Maliini and her daughter Esha Deol. John Abraham left non vegetarian after seeing new chicken farms. Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao and Milind Soman are vegetarian. It is said that Shahid Kapoor left non-veg when he read in an article that non vegetarian food is harmful and Kareena left non vegetarian when she was with him.

Bollywood stars are advised to take healthy vegetarian food by their physical trainer but most of the stars are fans of non vegetarian food. Although PETA has been associating Bollywood and Hollywood stars to promote vegetarian food but many of the stars associated to the organization are non vegetarian. Recently Raveena Tondon (who is not a full time vegetarian) said being animal friendly, not only includes not eating non vegetarian food but it also includes not taking items / goods made from animal skin. She talked of some products that are sold with labels “Made in China “are made from dog and cat skin.

PETA has been mostly promoting stars in vegetables but it seems the meaning of such promotions is not very clear.
