Cast: Lucky Ali, Meera
Director: Lucky Ali
Better known as a singer, Lucky Ali is one moody person who does films very selectively. Kasak is one such rarity, featuring Pakistani actress Meera. What prompted him to sign the film?
“After Kaante and Sur, I got offers that did not click with my mindset. But when this film was offered to me, I was free, and the subject appealed to me as well. My role is that of Amar, a male nurse, who becomes rich and marries Anjali, the woman he loves. But she marries him only for money. The film is about how Amar deals with the situation.”
Ali says about Meera, “Our chemistry worked, and made the intimate scenes happening.”
Meera takes offence when described as “bold” in Nazar (her debut) and in Kasak. “I do a role which suits me,” she says. “If we have to show a relationship between husband and wife, then the bedroom needs to be incorporated.

Back in 1996, when Peter Jackson was expected to (re)make King Kong after ‘The Frighteners’, his deal at the time was a $6.5 million salary plus bonuses. Post ‘Lord of the Rings’, however, the deal was far more lucrative, with $20 million up front against 20 per cent of the gross.
Jackson’s movie is based upon the original idea by Merian C. Cooper and Edgar Wallace for the classic 1933 film that inspired a few sequels over the years, as well as a 1976 remake starring Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange and Charles Grodin. King Kong and the various dinosaurs in the new movie have been created using CGI (computer generated imagery) animation.
The film stars Andy Serkis (photo-mapping basis for Kong’s face and movements), Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody and Jack Black.
