Mistress Of Spices fate shouldered on Aish

Aishwarya Rai is no doubt is the queen of beauty but this time she is Gurinder Chaddha’s Mistress Of Spices. After gaining international fame for her part in ‘Bride and Prejudice’ Aish is once again the central character in this romantic movie spiced with a bit of magic.The movie is adaptation of Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s famous novel by the same title, directed by the debutant Paul Mayeda Berges and produced by Deepak Nayar and Gurinder Chadha. Here, Gurinder Chadha has used spices to excite the senses and heal the spirit.

Cast: Aishwarya Rai, Dylan McDermott, Nitin Ganatra, Anupam Kher, Sonny Gill Dulay, Padma Lakshmi

Story: Tilo (Aishwarya Rai) is the mistress of a scented shop of spices and herbs situated in California where she works her magical powers. She draws on ancient wisdom to make remedies from fenugreek, lotus root, chillies, cinnamon roots, plants and powders from all over the world to cure heartache, banish bad luck and rescue from evil in one’s personal life. Abhishek take on Aishwarya

Finally, Abhishek Bachchan speaks about his romantic link-up with Aishwarya Rai.

Nahi yeh musam dillagi ka (romance is not in the air).

My relation with Aishwarya is a case of misinterpretation of good friendship and it is not new for the industry. It is happening with all actors. You work with an actress in one film and people start linking you with her. The moment you sign another film with someone else, you become the heartthrob of some other woman. I don’t think I am answerable or need to clarify because the more you do, people draw different meaning from it. I agree that whatever actors do is in the public domain and so they become subject to public scrutiny. But I also believe that there are certain things, which should remain personal. Sometimes, it becomes unpleasant when people link up two co-stars without checking facts and truth. (more…)

Jodha-Akbar will focus on Aishwarya-Hrithik love story

Ashutosh Gowariker’s (Lagaan, Swadesh) period film Jodha-Akbar, starring Hrithik Roshan as Emperor Akbar and Aishwarya Rai as Jodhabhai, will mainly focus on Hrithik-Aishwarya romance. The movie is said to be a romantic musical.

The script of the film has been finalized and Ashutosh is now consulting eminent historians to ensure that his film is historically accurate. In a way Jodha-Akbar will be prequel to blockbuster Mughal-e-Azam.

The story will start with a young Akba-r-e-Azam (Akbar), son of Mughal Emperor Humayun who ascends the throne of India at the young age of 13. How he becomes a great ruler of a big empire and his romance and subsequently marriage with Rajput princess Jodhabhai will be depicted in the movie. The film confines itself to the period before Akbar reached the age of 27. (more…)

Priyanka Chopra talks about Aishwarya’s beauty

Priyanka is one actress who believes in healthy competition. On one hand she takes away projects which Ash is supposed to do and on other hand she can’t stop pouring showers of praises on her.

Recently Priyanka Chopra, who herself is the cover girl of first issue of international men’s magazine Maxim, voted in Aishwarya Rai as the ‘face of India’.

She was asked if she is the new face of India and Priyanka promptly said, “Nah, I am not! Aishwarya Rai is. Aishwarya’s beauty and popularity crosses geo-political boundaries. I have a long way to go before I can be considered the face of India.” (more…)

Lucky girl Sneha Ullal says I am not an Aish look-alike

Ever since she made her debut opposite Salman Khan with ‘Lucky - No Time For Love’ everyone compares her with the Aishwarya Rai but Sneha asserts that she is not an Aish look-alike.

You are often compared with Aish and many call you her look-alike.
When people see a copy of the Taj Mahal, they say it looks like the Taj Mahal, isn’t it? So, that’s an advantage. But when they compare me with Aishwarya, I think they should limit it to the screen, nothing else. I am new to this profession and hence, there is no competition. (more…)
