Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently got a standing ovation at an Award function from audiences of all ages, to welcome him back after his long respite and congratulate him over his splendid performance in ‘Black’.
Amitabh who is on an award-winning spree said in an interview that he is yet to get used to applause and reflected his wish to again work with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali after the super success of Black.
The audience gave you a standing ovation at a recent function.
It was such an overwhelming moment to see the audience’s reaction to me. I just didn’t know what to say. I had a tough time trying to control my emotions when I saw the audience up on its feet for me. I’ve no adequate words to describe what I feel each time I get the love of the people in this country. Malamaal Weekly – no maldar comedy

Comparing Priyadarshan’s previous track record (Hera Pheri, Hungama, Hulchul, Garam Masala) of hit comedies, Malamaal Weekly fails to tickle your funny bones. The story of the movie is very confusing as the sub plots keep interfering in the main plot. Also, apart from some funny dialogues, which are mainly kept for Paresh Rawal and Om Puri, the rest of the movie seems plain. The movie that is stuffed with comic maestro such as Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Om Puri and upcoming comic actor Ritesh Deshmukh (Bluffmaster, Masti, Kya kool Hai Hum), has featured below par performances of each actor.
Story:
Malamaal Weekly starts with sutradhar Naseeruddin Shah’s narration of a small drought affected village where people are fighting for survival from poverty, poor harvests and a Thakurani called Karamkali (Sudha Chandran) and her brother Baijey (Rajpal Yadav) who harass the poor illiterate villagers by squeezing excess interest from them. A new song to be called ‘A-B-H-I to the shakin’ has been rendered by Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan along with ace singer Sunidhi Chauhan for a yet-untitled film. It looks like Abhishek singing career has kick-started after his sensational sung hip-hop track ‘Right here right now’ for Bluffmaster.
The new song will again be crafted by Vishal-Shekhar who composed ‘Right here right now’ and this song again will features more ’singing’ than shaking.
Those who have heard it claim this one groovier than Bluffmaster song.
