Unlike other actors, Akshaye Khanna understands his co-star of ‘Shaadi Se Pehle’, Mallika Sherawat very well and finds that the sizzling actress gets misunderstood by many. Besides that he talks about his forthcoming films.

You’re known to be choosy, so how come you’re going to be seen in five films now?

It's not a question of being choosy. It's about finding roles that excite me. This time I liked all the five scripts. There's so much work happening in our film industry. Just how much of that work is worth doing depends entirely on an individual actor. I was suddenly offered stuff that I found terribly exciting.

And you are doing a comedy with Mallika Sherawat!

Why not? I think Mallika Sherawat is misunderstood. I'm not saying her image is entirely misleading. There's never any fire without smoke. But just because she has done certain films in the past of a particular kind, it doesn't mean that everything she does now will be of the same quality. Ameesha Patel who is shooting for Reema Kagti’s Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. in Goa for a month is having a great time although they are working round the clock.

How is shooting for Honeymoon Travels going in Goa?

Goa is beautiful and I can stay here all my life. We all are having a blast here, and even before you ask, I am not fighting with any of my co-actors on the sets. It is tiring to shoot day and night, but Reema is such a fantastic director that she never lets us feel the stress. She always gives us the space which an actor expects from a director.

Do you feel different working with a woman director?

Yes, she (Reema) understands a woman's psychology well. Even before we could speak she would understand. That's the fun of working with a woman director. There are so many women in the cast too. (more…)

Rumors were rife that the two actresses Priyanka Chopra and Ameesha Patel were spitting cold vibes while shooting for Dharmesh Darshan’s ‘Aap Ki Khatir’ in London. Some said that the actresses who were supposed to be playing sisters in the film were more bitter than strangers in real life. But now Priyanka Chopra begs to differ.

How was the experience of working with Dharmesh Darshan?
It was good. All of us had a great time, except that it was minus 5 degrees Celsius where we were shooting in Ludlow (on the outskirts of London). The climactic conditions were unbearable. To top it, I had to wear chiffons and skirts for my scenes. I’d do the shots in the freezing cold, rush to the car and turn on the heater on full blast. A month of blowing cold and blowing hot has taken its toll on my health. Now I’m down with fever. But there was a lot of warmth among us actors - Akshaye Khanna, Dino, Ameesha, Anupam, Lilette, Suniel Shetty - despite the fact that I hadn’t worked with them before. I love the outdoors. But I also love to come home.

Himesh Reshammiya seemed very angry during Zee awards and MTV awards. When he was awarded the Best Singer at Zee, he opened his acceptance speech by saying, “Hope this proves a point. I will be even better next year. I am grateful to God, dad and Salman Khan.” Earlier, at the MTV where he reaped two prizes (Best Singer and Music) he began by saying, “Yeh awards maine kharide nahin hai!”

So, why he appear so sullen and what’s to be so bitter about? He has also received the Filmfare award for Best Singer as well as the Stardust awards for Best Singer and New Talent. Isn’t it time for him to celebrate. This is what he has to say.

Nothing, absolutely nothing! I am thankful and grateful to everyone for the response my songs have fetched. Maybe, I am not good at humour; or maybe my straight-faced look makes people think its attitude. But it’s not that way at all. Amisha has rubbish rumors of her marriage with beau Vikram Bhatt and sets herself a shaadi deadline before leaving for Goa where shooting for Reema Kagti’s film ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd.’ has started.

Rumours were doing rounds of Bollywood is that Amisha Patel and Vikram Bhatt have set the date for their wedding in March this year. But this is what Amisha said, “I don’t know who is spreading these rumours. I have just finished the shooting for Dharmesh Darshan’s Aap ki Khatir and am busy with Farhan Akhtar’s next production.”

“A friend of mine called me to inform me about this news. I laughed and ignored it. I don’t want to react to such news and I have no such plans for the next seven years. When I set a date, I will definitely inform the media,” She added.

Amisha Patel has been seeing Bhatt for almost two years and she is also open to the idea of marriage but will be prepared to do so only after seven years. (more…)

Suniel Shetty is tired of doing pointless films he has starred in the recent past and is calling quits. The actor of several multi-starrers has finally decided to say bye to Bollywood due to lack of good offers coming his way.

Shetty announced his retirement when his films in the early ’90s were flopping all around him. At that time, he said that he’d quit the industry after he gets his first hit film. But his first official hit ‘Border’ made him forget his decision.

This time he has returned the signing amounts he has taken from several of his producers and has also set March 31 to be the deadline. (more…)

Shooting of Dharmesh Darshan’s (Bewafaa, Dhadkhan, Raja Hindustani) latest film Aap Ki Khatir starring Priyanka Chopra, Amisha Patel, Akshay Khanna, Dino Morea and Suniel Shetty is going on in London and places near it.

The crew members of Aap Ki Khatir while shooting for the film actually saw a spirit roaming around the palatial villa (where they are shooting) at Knighton in London. And they claim it belongs to former governor general Lord Clive.

Actor Sunil Shetty said, “It’s beautiful, but isolated countryside, and the palace we were shooting in belonged to Lord Clive. Initially, a crewmember reported a ghostly experience, but nobody believed him. As the days passed, all the crewmembers were convinced there was a spirit roaming around. But I’ve not personally felt it.”
