We have already announced the remake of Qurbani. I am planning to play my father’s role. It is a contemporary subject which despite being 25 years old, holds true even today. The plot and the characters are contemporary. We have received tremendous reactions just with the announcement of the film. Let’s hope for the best.

Fardeen is now looking forward to his forthcoming film ‘Pyaare Mohan’, slated for April 21 release. So how was it working with Viveik Oberoi?
I am Pyaare who is blind and he is Mohan, who is hearing-impaired. It was a great experience working with Viveik. We shared a great rapport, which extends on the screen and reflects in our work. It was a difficult role. We had to maintain the continuity and react accordingly at all times. I think we make a great team together. (more…)

Amisha Patel is almost bronzed while shooting under Goan sun for Farhan Akthar’s Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. but the tan is making her look sexier.

According to her the shooting for the film was mostly going on the beach almost seventeen hours each day. Initially she tried to protect her skin but finally gave up.

Talking about it Amisha says, “I had barely returned from London and the freezing cold (Aap Ki Khatir), when I started shooting for Honeymoon. I just couldn’t stand the heat! I tried my best to protect my skin but it didn’t help. I’d wake at 4.30 a.m. and apply sun block lotion. I was a little apprehensive because I thought it wouldn’t look nice on screen. Delhi girl Minisha Lamba who started her bollywood dream with Yahaan is on a roll these days. She has almost completed doing three films with big banners.

Minisha has completed a major schedule of Reema Kagti’s Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd in Goa. She revealed, “The shooting is turning out to be a good experience for me. Despite the ensemble cast, everything has been so well organised. I remember how after the day’s shooting would finish, we would have a wonderful time relaxing on the beach”.

She has also completed Madhur Bhandarkar’s Corporate. “Bipasha plays my mentor in the film. Corporate is a film with immense drama. I am playing a different character for the first time,” she said. (more…)

How is shooting for Honeymoon Travels going in Goa?

Goa is beautiful and I can stay here all my life. We all are having a blast here, and even before you ask, I am not fighting with any of my co-actors on the sets. It is tiring to shoot day and night, but Reema is such a fantastic director that she never lets us feel the stress. She always gives us the space which an actor expects from a director.

Do you feel different working with a woman director?

Yes, she (Reema) understands a woman's psychology well. Even before we could speak she would understand. That's the fun of working with a woman director. There are so many women in the cast too. (more…)

Evergreen lyricist Gulzar was nominated for three of his works in this year’s Filmfare awards - ‘Dheere jalna’ from ‘Paheli’, ‘Chup chup ke’ from ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and ‘Kajra re’ again from ‘Bunty Aur Babli’. Of course his ‘Kajra re’ was the hot favorite of everyone. Gulzar thinks this award wining song is not devoid of poetry. At this moment he is writing songs for editor Shirish Kunder’s directorial debut ‘Jaan-E-Man’ and wants to learn the language of mainstream cinema.

You seem to be on a quest for new peaks to conquer.
Recently I returned from Chennai after a music sitting with Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rahman. We are working together again after ‘Dil Se’ for Mani’s ‘Guru’. Again we’ll try to attempt a different sound. Guru has a serious layer below the surface, which I’ll tap as a poet. Mani Ratnam is the only director who asks for abstract images. It’s lovely to share my poetry with him. His Hindi is getting better. But I’m lagging behind. My Tamil should improve soon.

As a lyricist, I’d say my first turning point as an abstract lyricist was ‘Humne dekhi hai un aankhon ki mehekti khushboo’ in ‘Khamoshi’. Another turning point was Mani Ratnam’s ‘Dil Se’ where with ‘Chaiyyan chaiyyan’ my sufiyana phase started. Now let’s see, perhaps with ‘Guru’ there will be another turning point. Amisha has rubbish rumors of her marriage with beau Vikram Bhatt and sets herself a shaadi deadline before leaving for Goa where shooting for Reema Kagti’s film ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd.’ has started.

Rumours were doing rounds of Bollywood is that Amisha Patel and Vikram Bhatt have set the date for their wedding in March this year. But this is what Amisha said, “I don’t know who is spreading these rumours. I have just finished the shooting for Dharmesh Darshan’s Aap ki Khatir and am busy with Farhan Akhtar’s next production.”

“A friend of mine called me to inform me about this news. I laughed and ignored it. I don’t want to react to such news and I have no such plans for the next seven years. When I set a date, I will definitely inform the media,” She added.

Amisha Patel has been seeing Bhatt for almost two years and she is also open to the idea of marriage but will be prepared to do so only after seven years. (more…)

Farhan Akhtar assistant Reema Kagti who is making her debut as a director with film ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd’ has accused director Nikhil Advani of swiping her story for his film ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’.

This means we have two films in the making that has more or less the same storyline of six couples on Honeymoon. (What a waste!)

Reema revealed that she had narrated a story idea to Nikhil when she was assisting Farhan for Lakshya but things could not get materialized with him at that moment. “I had narrated my love story woven around six couples, to Nikhil Advani. He also had a second round of complete script narration with my dialogue writer Anurag Kashyap. I don’t know why he didn’t do the film”, she said. (more…)
