Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is looking forward to his upcoming project ‘Tathastu’ which is about a father’s struggle to fight against the immunity and numbness of the society towards the injustice done to his child.

After the success of ‘Dus’, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha’s upcoming project ‘Tathastu’ brings together Sanjay Dutt along with Amisha Patel and Jaya Prada in the lead roles. Sanjay Dutt has already played a role on similar lines a few years for Mahesh Manjrekar’s ‘Pitaah’.

Talking about the movie, Sanjay said, “It’s a very intense film. The movie deals with the relationship of a father and his son. It’s a story of a lower middle class family and the movie unfolds sequences about what a father does for his child”. (more…)

Director Raj Kaushal mysterious thriller ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ starring unusual pair of Sanjay Dutt and Minisha Lamba along with Arshad Warsi is already complete and is expected to hit the theatres in June this year.

According to Director ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ is a light hearted version of a whodunit regarding Anthony’s identity where one is an assassin and the other is a victim. Raj Kaushal who has earlier given film like ‘Pyar Main Kabhi Kabhi’ and ‘Shaadi Ke Laddoo’ is not willing to reveal much about the film.

Ask him where he was after his last release and he replies, “I had disappeared into oblivion (laughs). Well (seriously), after the release of Shaadi Ke Laddoo I realised that I should make only those films that I believe in. After a long time I got a subject that I could relate to and hence I went ahead with the film.”

Sanjay Dutt who has much belief in the film went out of his way to help his producer friend Nikhil Panchamiya. The busy actor finished the schedule of ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’ in a one-go in Thailand. Because of him the film is releasing so soon. (more…)

Actor Sanjay Dutt who is an accused in the 1993 bomb blasts case, has been given permission by TADA court to visit US for three weeks to participate in charity shows organised by the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation. Dutt will also meet his daughter in US.

Sanjay as the brand ambassador of the foundation set up in the memory of his mother, would leave for the US tomorrow and return on April 21. The permission was granted by designated judge P D Kode on a plea made by Sanjay’s lawyer Farhana Shah.

However, the judge warned Sanjay to refrain from establishing any contact with the co-accused and also asked him to appear before the court within 24 hours if it was necessary. Sanjay has been asked to keep his lawyer present in the court during his absence. (more…)

Sanjay Gupta and Apoorva Lakhia are pairing up to make a realisticly original movie. The movie is based on a shootout incident that happened in Mumbai’s posh Lokhandwala area and will be titled ‘Shootout’ or ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’. Gupta’s favorite actor Sanjay Dutt will be repeated in this one too.

Lakhia (Ek Ajnabee) and Gupta’s (Zinda) last films were blatant copies of foreign films but this time two have decided to make a movie on real life incident. The film is going to be yet another thriller by Sanjay Gupta’s production company White Feather Films.

Apart from Sanjay Dutt, ‘Shootout’ will star Arjun Rampal, Javed Jaffery. Search is on for the female leads and two more male actors. Lakhia and Gupta are said to have talked with Vivek Oberoi and Emraan Hashmi for the roles but nothing has been finalized as yet. (more…)

Dada (Pradeep Sarkar) was very sure he wanted only me for the role. His confidence and faith in me really boosted my energy levels. It helps when someone stands and backs you. I had done nearly 80 ads by the time I came to an acting career, still one needs inspiration from the right quarters. He was sure no one else could play Lolita. I think people who debut at an early age have had to wait a few years to get that kind of a role. In that way, I am lucky. Touch wood.

Sequel to 'Munnabhai MBBS'!

I play Sanjay Dutt’s love interest in ‘Munnabhai Meets Mahatma’. But it’s not a sequel per se. The characters Munna and Circuit are there in this movie also, but it is not a sequel to ‘Munnabhai MBBS’. One of the great things about the film is that everyone sees it as a fresh film, including Rajkumar Hirani. It may be titled ‘Munnabhai Meets Mahatma’ or ‘Munnabhai Lage Raho’. I also loved ‘Munnabhai MBBS’. There was not a single unwanted moment in the film. Picture ho to aisi! (more…)

Priyadarshan is gearing to make another laugh-riot titled Bhaagam-Bhaag and this time he is bringing comedy professor Govinda and action cum comic star Akshay Kumar. Both will be joined by Lara Dutta and Paresh Rawal in this comedy to be launched this June.

The director is inspired from English movie as he told, “it’s a totally crazy comedy of errors like Stanley Kramer’s It’s A Mad Mad Mad World.”

He added, “It involves characters in a theatrical group from India who have to perform in London. The actors in the group include Akshay Kumar who is the villain in the play. Govinda is the hero while Paresh Rawal owns the repertory. The story unfolds when the play’s heroine, fed up with Akshay’s and Govinda’s antics, refuses to turn up. So, once in London they’ve on the look-out for a new heroine. It’s a crazy film.” (more…)
